We're Moving!!!

Yep, its official...Stu and I are moving!! We are out of an apartment and into a house!! I am so excited...we go and sign all the papers tomorrow night and then it's ours!! I can't wait to get out of this apartment...only a few more days!!

When it rains, it pours....

Well, needless to say this past week hasn't exactly been the best...on Wednesday I was forced to leave work early when Stu called saying that our entire kitchen was flooding. What a mess that whole situation was...let's just say the managment there is so bad it has forced us to start searching for another place to live...but we'll see if that works out or not.

Stu still does not have a job, not for lack of trying...he had a job interview with the county on Monday and things sounded promising. They were very impressed with his experience and degree, but said that he was "over-qualified" for the positions he had applied for. They did however encourage him to apply for a higher position, but warned him that if someone else comes a long that has experience directly related to that field, he won't get it. It's so frustrating because they won't give him the job that will give him the experience because he's "over-qualified" but they won't give him the job he's qualified for because he doesn't have the experience?? What is a person supposed to do???

Needless to say, it has been a very "down" week for us, but we know we'll make it through because God is good and we know He has a plan for us, we just don't know what that is yet!! Definately looking forward to tomorrow though...going to Chuckchansi Gold Casino for some office-paid gambling!! Woohooo!!!

Life is short...

Last night while cooking dinner, I received a phone call from my mom telling me to turn on the local news right away...they were doing a story on a girl I used to play basketball against in high school. I figured they were reporting on her because she was drafted into the WNBA (which she was supposed to be sometime soon) but instead they were reporting on her life...because she died yesterday. The cause of her death is not certain at this time, she just collapsed and primary findings show that she had a blood clot that might have contributed to her death. She was a big girl, (when we played her in high school she was 6'5' 300 lbs) and perhaps her heart just couldn't handle her size any more...who knows. Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of her, I still find this a great tragedy and feel sorry for her family's loss. She was 22 years old...my age, hard to believe that someone could die of "natural causes" when they are a young athlete, but it happens. About a month ago, the same thing happened to a guy Stuart and Kirsten went to high school with. This just goes to show that life is short and to enjoy the time God has given you here on earth because you never know when He will call you home!

Premier Week

Ok, I have to say that I was sorely disappointed with the season premier of ER...I was expecting more, espeically with a season finale like they had last year. But I guess nothing will be the same without Noah Wyle...

CSI and CSI Miami were good though. Law & Order SVU was good, although a little creepy...looks to be another good one this week as well. And of course even though they weren't season premieres this week, Prison Break and Dog the Bounty Hunter were great.

Anyone have any comments about the season premieres they watched this week? Anybody agree with me about ER??

I'm done with apartments

Stuart and I have officially decided that as soon as our lease is up in this apartment we are moving and never living in an apartment again! I am sick of people who don't respect other's property. Ok, so here's what brought all this on....of course, in an apartment complex made up completely of families with you children who go to bed early and single people, we get stuck under the one apartment that has 4 college boys who never go to class and don't give a rat's-*** about anyone else or their space. Yesterday morning was the 3rd time they have parked in front of our driveway preventing me from being able to get my car out of the garage and go to work...the 3rd time! Also that night, Monday night, they decided to have a party and kept me awake until 3am....these people aren't normal college kids, partying on Friday and Saturday, oh no that I could deal with, they decide to party on the weeknights when I have to get up and go to work the next day. This was the 3rd or 4th time they have partied on a weeknight keeping me awake. They also decide that they want to throw their empty beer cans and cigarette butts off their balcony into our patio area. Stu and I have also witnessed them sweeping their dirt and garbage into our patio and spitting into our patio. WHO DOES THAT? Of course when we tell the managment about it all they do is tell us not to talk to them because they will take care of it and the nothing happens. We finally wrote a formal letter of complaint about it (we have already verbally complained 3 times) and of course the manager is on vacation until Sunday.

So you'd think that would be enjough frustration for one day right? Nope, Stu and I were getting ready to go over to my parents house and we locked ourselves out of the apartment with no car keys. So we ended up waiting an hour, not being able to go to my parents' and paying a locksmight $62 to open our door. AY AY AY!

But not everything in life is going bad...Stu has a job interview with the county on Monday, so please keep that in your prayers!!!! Thanks for listening!
